Studio - Which studio space & equipment suits different photography styles?

Still Life

You do not need a fully-kitted out studio for Still Life Photography.  You can keep it simple by utilising a space in your home with natural light through a nearby window and a couple of lamps, a table and a simple backdrop such as a length of material, or backdrop paper or card, and a tripod to ensure you capture the sharpest image possible.

If you are shooting still life photography in a studio setting then you may wish to use one or two smaller studio lights such as a Softbox or beauty dish.

Portraits

For a portrait photo shoot in the studio, you will need a larger amount of space for a number of people (such as a large family), you will also have more lights to contend with, a tripod, and larger backdrops as more floor space will be needed.  You may also have other equipment such as reflectors, wireless flash triggers, props etc.
